ACCESS California Annual Conference    August 2020 ( Bay Area)

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

Join ACCESS CA in the Bay Area for our third annual mental health conference in August 2020, and hear special presentations keynote speakers in the mental health community. Conference participants will be provided with an overview of the ACCESS program’s objectives, a summary of the program activities conducted thus far, and offer key findings from our statewide surveys about the public mental health system. Additionally, this conference creates opportunities for clients/consumers to participate in statewide policy discussions and collaborate with local and state policy makers, organizational leaders, providers, and the general public to address important issues impacting mental health services in local communities and affecting clients throughout California.


PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN


  • State of Community Survey Preliminary Findings
  • ​Applicable federal and state mental health laws
  • ​​How the MHSA works: its grassroots origins and transformative intent, the MHSA’s six General Standards, and its requirements for meaningful stakeholder inclusion at all levels of program planning and development
  • ​​Comprehensive insight from keynote speakers in the mental health community

Each year ACCESS releases a comprehensive State of the Community Report. This year's State of the Community Report will be in 2 Volumes. Volume I, released in October, addresses the state of recovery-oriented services within California's public mental health system. Volume II will address, among other things, the original intent of the Mental Health Services Act.
